Katie McGlynn shows off new look in bold neon outfit on night out in Manchester

Katie McGlynn looked sensational as she stepped out in a striking yellow outfit for her best friend's birthday.

The former Corrie star from Rochdale wowed in neon as she partied with her pal Lee Bennett as he turned 28.

Katie, who showcased her transformation from platinum blonde to brunette earlier this month, set off her new look perfectly with her bold mini skirt and cropped jacket co-ords as she headed out to dinner in Manchester last night.

The 27-year-old actress, who played Sinead Osbourne in Coronation Street, added a black top with cut-out detail and fishnet ankle boots.

She wore her caramel brown tresses in a half-up half-down hair style to frame her face for the night out at Gorilla Bar.

Beforehand both Katie and Lee shared snaps on their Instagram of the pair smiling together and pulling funny faces.

"Birthday bae @_leebennett," the star wrote about her friend.

"Over a decade of friendship and there’s no one else I’d rather get old, grey and funky with.

"Happy birthday babe!!"

The compliments came pouring in for her new look.

"Brunette looks INCREDIBLE on you," praised one fan.

"Look very nice with brown hair Katie, it suits you," said another.

"Unbelievably stunning and beautiful love," another fan praised.

In February Katie took to Instagram to say she doesn't need a man when she has her 'gay best friend.'

She shared a smiley snap of the pair on a walk together with a verse in tribute to Lee.

"Roses are red, violets are blue," she wrote.

"Who needs a man when I have a GBF like you?"

Katie, who played Sinead in Corrie until 2019, won high praise for her role as Sinead, who passed away after battling cervical cancer.

Last year she scooped the National Television Award for best serial drama performance.

After breaking hearts in Weatherfield as Sinead Katie was back on our screens in series four of the BBC One drama The Syndicate earlier this year about a group of lottery winners.

She tried her hand as a stand-up comic on Channel 4's Stand and Deliver charity show for Stand Up to Cancer.

And she'll soon be starring in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as new character Becky.

It sounds like a huge storyline ahead as Katie said: "I'm hopeful the story will have an impact on the viewers as it covers some extremely current and important issues."

Earlier this year she filmed her smear test to encourage other women to have the screening.

Katie filmed as she went for her test to show how 'quick and easy' it is, telling fans the procedure could potentially save their life.

Katie's Corrie character Sinead was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2018 when she was pregnant and temporarily stopped her treatment as she was worried it would harm her unborn child.

She discovered that her cancer was terminal on her wedding day in September 2019 after it had spread to her lymph nodes and her liver.

In the soap Sinead was informed she couldn't have had cervical screening because she was told she was too young at 24.

Sinead's story prompted calls from viewers to lower the age for cervical screening.
