RIO DE JANEIRO _ U.S. swimmer Katie Ledecky devoured the Olympic Games 400-meter freestyle record for lunch Sunday afternoon.
The question now is what will she do for a late-night snack?
Ledecky swam 3 minutes, 58.71 seconds in winning her qualifying heat at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium Sunday despite clearly easing back late in the race.
Ledecky's mark was just off her world record of 3:58.37. Ledecky now has the top five marks all-time in the event, nine of the top 10.
The 400 final is Saturday night.
