A Prada party is always sure to attract the great and the good. So it came to pass with Sunday night’s cocktail reception at the brand’s new Fondazione, an exhibition space in Milan. Top prize goes to the gallery staff, kitted out in very on-brand, school-style uniforms of grey shirt and black trousers. Katie Grand, the editor-in-chief of Love magazine and sometime collaborator with Mrs Prada, arguably outshone the rest of the attendees in her layers of black and navy. Some might talk about the platforms, the full skirt with the smidge of turquoise poking out or the Marc Jacobs T-shirt. But it is actually the hat, hair and beaded necklace that takes this outfit head and shoulders above the rest. This is because it takes a little from Lisa Bonet’s hat wardrobe in A Different World, adds Molly Ringwald’s in Pretty in Pink and streamlines the whole thing by painting it black. The result? Pretty grand.
