Kathryn Thomas shares embarrassment at hilarious live TV blunder on Ireland AM

Kathryn Thomas created a stir on live TV this morning when a blunder stopped her interview about her daughter's big transition to school.

She was sitting on the couch on Ireland AM on Virgin Media with Tommy Bowe and Muireann O'Connell talking about the perils of social media when her phone began to kick off. The RTE presenter found herself stopping mid-interview but ended up laughing off the alarm that was pinging from her phone.

Tommy urged Kathryn to "answer it!" as she laughed "that's my alarm" while Muireann checked her watch. Muireann joked "does your kid sleep in until 8.30?" while Tommy added "it could be Ellie wanting to Facetime!".

Kathryn exclaimed: "It says what the alarm is for but I don't even know what it says at this point!". Muireann guessed that it said "that's the time I'm finished talking to those two eejits on TV".

But despite the embarrassing live TV blunder, the trio laughed off the moment and said that she was sure to face a "trial by social media" while Tommy admitted his phone is always buzzing away during serious interviews on air. Kathryn explained on the radio later that it was a reminder set on her phone to remind her that it was her wedding anniversary today.
