Here "Today" _ but gone come April.
Kathie Lee Gifford is leaving the "Today" show after more than a decade, NBC News President Noah Oppenheim announced Tuesday.
The TV personality, 65, has co-hosted the fourth hour of the show with Hoda Kotb since 2008, with the pair building a reputation for a lighthearted, booze-filled rapport.
Oppenheim told staffers of the shake-up in a memo obtained by Deadline, and said Gifford would be leaving to "focus her attention full-time on... other creative endeavors," including film, music and book projects.
Gifford will stay on board through the show's next anniversary, on April 17.
"In 2008, I joined the 'Today' show family intending to spend one year,'" Gifford said in a statement to Oppenheim. "But something unexpected happened along the way: I fell in love with a beautiful, talented, extraordinary Egyptian goddess named Hoda, and an amazing group of individuals who work tirelessly and joyfully at their jobs, many of them starting at midnight, creating an unprecedented four hours of live television."
Oppenheim noted that Kotb, who also took over Matt Lauer's spot as co-anchor last year, will stick around for the hour even after Gifford's departure.
