Katherine Schwarzenegger pays tribute to late cousin Saoirse Kennedy Hill with heartfelt Instagram message

Katherine Schwarzenegger paid tribute to her late second cousin Saoirse Kennedy Hill on Tuesday. Hill, the 22 year old granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy, passed away last week after a suspected overdose.

The family gathered at Hyannis Port to pay their respects after Monday’s funeral, with relatives including Schwarzenegger and her mother Maria Shriver posting social media tributes.

Schwarzenegger, 29, took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt message to her late cousin. Her post began, “After wiping away the tears, after the beautiful sunsets, there is always a new day. It’s not the big events or pretty things that hold you up at the end of the day, it’s family."

"I feel so incredibly blessed to be part of such a loving, supportive and strong family that shows up in good times and in tough times," she continued. "I love each and every one of them and am so grateful to have them in my life.”

Schwarzenegger is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver. Shriver is the daughter of Eunice Kennedy Shriver - the sister of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy.

Shriver also took to Instagram earlier in the week to honor Hill and wrote, “Life is fragile and heartbreaking. It turns upside down in a minute. Love your children, hold them tight. Love your family, hold them close. Love your friends, keep them near. Be gentle with others, as so many are fragile and struggling. Actually, I think it’s best to assume everyone is struggling, so treat everyone with love, tenderness, and compassion.”

She then posted a “Monday Meditation” with the caption, “Now is the time for reflection and stillness. Now is the time to support others as they deal with sorrow. Now is the time to allow yourself to take a moment — for whatever you need, for whatever others need — and just live in that moment. Action will come, but for now, just be.”

For years, the Kennedy family has been plagued by tragedy and scandal, which has been dubbed the "Kennedy Curse."
