Katharine McPhee has hit back at critics who blasted her husband David Foster after he complimented her post-baby figure in a recent social media post.
The record producer, 72, faced immense backlash after he shared a controversial image of Katarine -,who welcomed the couple's first child 10-months ago - posing in a skimpy bikini.
Alongside the sizzling snap, David rubbed social media users up the wrong way when he penned: 'What baby?'
The photo caption left hundreds of social media users furious as they hit out at 'unattainable' beauty standards for new mums.
Following the backlash, Katharine, 37, has now responded by defending her husband and opening up about her own body issues.

The former American Idol contestant, 37, did so by sharing a photo of herself in a one-piece red swimsuit as she showcased her model-like frame.
"I’m sorry but we are not sorry," she captioned the post.
"And for all of you who can’t deal with it maybe this helps. I’ve struggled with weight my whole 20s and 30. I’ve gone up and down 10 times over.
"Does that make you feel better? There is nothing wrong with that - most people do."

The LA native continued: "Guess what? I’ll probably gain weight again at some point too. Who cares?'
Katharine then suggested that people 'freaking out' about what her husband captioned should 'seriously get a life' and 'stop being so offended by what people post who have zero impact on your life and move on'.
"Maybe you should have more of an attitude of like, let’s say… "oh that’s nice he thinks his wife is hot." I cannot with this overly sensitive society right now," she fumed.
Katharine and David welcomed their child - Rennie - in February.

The mum-of-one admitted she lost this baby weight without dieting, adding that she believes 'diets are the worst'.
Katharine also insisted that she felt no pressure from anyone to lose the baby weight, but she did so by allowing her body to 'do its thing' to lose the extra pounds.
Following David's controversial caption, fans hit out at the couple for being 'tone deaf'.
"Weird thing to post about your wife who had a public bout with an eating disorder. Ick," one fumed.

"This post shows how out of touch with reality he is. Never comment on a woman's body," another echoed.
"Very, very, wrong to post this picture. Especially seeing as his wife has been so honest about her eating disorder in the past," someone else insisted.
While a fourth quipped: "Why doesn't he post a picture of himself in a bathing suit and see how the world could pick him apart? Idiot."
