Kate’s powerful message after secretly completing gruelling Three Peaks challenge in royal first

  • The Princess of Wales successfully completed the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend, ascending the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales within 24 hours.
  • She undertook the solo feat of endurance to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and to highlight the importance of holistic care and life beyond a cancer diagnosis.
  • On social media, she wrote: “I have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back. The Royal Marsden is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life changing for so many people. Through this challenge, I want to raise awareness for the deeper impact of serious illness and the importance of holistic healthcare.”
  • This achievement marks a royal first, as the Princess is the first member of the Royal Family to complete the demanding challenge; she was supported by Mountain Rescue teams, she trekked 23 miles with over 10,000 feet of ascent, later being met by her family at the finish.
  • Reflecting on her own cancer journey, the Princess emphasised how the illness affects every aspect of life and called for donations to support research into holistic cancer care.
