Kate Wright paid sweet tribute to Rio Ferdinand's late wife on Mother's Day

Kate Wright paid a touching tribute to fiancée Rio Ferdinand's late wife on Mother's Day.

The former TOWIE star was marking the day with her three stepchildren Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine and Tia, eight who tragically lost their mum almost four years ago.

Rio's late wife, Rebecca Ellison, sadly died in May 2015 from breast cancer at the age of 35.

On Mother's Day on Sunday, March 31, the former Manchester United footballer thanked his wife-to-be in an emotional message for keeping Rebecca's memory alive.

Kate has since shared her own tribute, posting a picture of a card to her Instagram page.

Alongside the post, the 28-year-old also said: "Lovely Mother’s Day dinner with family, we celebrated all 6 of us today.

"How lucky we all are to have hearts that can love after so much pain. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone."

Many fans have responded to Kate's sweet gesture, describing her as a 'role model' and a 'special woman'.
