Kate Spade Glasgow store opening: Here's what is in store

Kate Spade is set to open a flagship store right here in the city centre next week.

The Princes Square boutique opens on Tuesday, April 2 – and will be only the second in the world to feature the brand's new design concept, according to bosses.

The shop will feature the brand's signature tonal shades of pink, rose gold and deep green and mixed materials including marble, velvet and metal.

Customers will be in for a treat when the store finally opens its doors on Tuesday after months of speculation.

So here is what's in store for fans:

How will the store look?

The 1,800 sq ft space will be the first permanent Scottish outlet, with more than 140 located across the US and a further 175 across the globe.

Plush grey carpets are inlayed into wood floors. The walls are done in the brand’s new signature matte pink and rose gold-striped wallpaper. Meanwhile, softly curved fixtures, furniture, high-polished lacquered pedestals and mannequin displays further reinforce the modern femininity at the heart of the brand.

What can customers expect?

Although available online and at retailers including House of Fraser, this will be the first time Glasgow fashionistas will have had a chance to browse exclusively in-house.

The store offers multiple product categories including kate spade new york handbags, ready-to-wear, fashion accessories, small leather goods, tech accessories, jewelry, watches, footwear, eyewear and gifting, creating a shopping destination with a wide range of products distinctively designed for a woman’s life – from everyday luxuries to special occasion pieces.

Founded by the late Kate Brosnahan Spade in 1993, Kate Spade New York was bought by the Tapestry Group, which owns handbag brand Coach, in 2017.
