Kate Silverton unveils 2st weight loss on The One Show after taking up trampolining

Kate Silverton is looking incredible after finding a super fun way to lose weight.

The former BBC newsreader unveiled her slimmed-down frame as she appeared on The One Show last night.

The 50-year-old explained how she had taken up trampolining as a form of exercise in the first lockdown, as she vowed not to let being stuck at home be an excuse to put weight on.

The mum-of-two's hard work has clearly paid off as she looked slimmer than ever in a gorgeous duck egg coloured roll-neck jumper.

She took up rebounding, a low impact workout using a mini trampoline, as well as Pilates and cycling in a bid to combat the "stress" her body would be put under in lockdown.

Kate, who headed into The One Show studio last night to chat about her new parenting book There's No Such Thing As 'Naughty', has previously spoken about her fluctuating weight.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star once said: "I was either going to put on two-and-a-half stone during lockdown or lose it, and I've lost it.

"It was a conscious decision and I knew I had to focus.

"I bought myself a racer bike, a trampoline and some Tracy Anderson DVDs and I got a good nutritionist. I have been eating at specific times and trying to get more sleep.

"I feel so much better in myself. I'm feeling as fit and well as I possibly can at this time of my life."

Just last month, Kate opened up about the changes she'd made to her routine ahead of her 50th birthday.

She told the Daily Mail : "I got one of those rebounder trampolines.

"I was studying how toxic stress sits in the body so the jumping up and down helped."

She went on: "I turned 50 and I did mark that by saying I want to look as well as I can."

Kate also recently spoke about how she'd found joy in volunteering as a counsellor for primary school children.

She said: "I’ve started counselling in a London primary school – on placement, I should stress. I have my own clients and I report to a supervisor at the end of the day. I’m absolutely loving it.

"That’s my joy at the moment. It’s an extraordinary privilege to be doing that. I feel very focused and fired."
