Kate's carol service is back! Here are her best festive looks from ‘Together at Christmas’

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, returned to Westminster Abbey on Friday to host her annual Christmas carol service, continuing the tradition that she started in 2021.

The ‘Together at Christmas’ service, which is spearheaded by Kate Middleton and supported by The Royal Foundation, provides an opportunity to recognise and thank the many people around the country who are “acting with love in their communities.”

It has become a Christmas staple for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their family, with George, Charlotte, Louis and members of the Middleton family often joining for the celebration. This year, the Abbey will host a 1,600-strong congregation, joined by members of the Royal Family and a few famous faces.

For those who didn’t snag an invite, the Christmas carol service will be broadcast on ITV and ITVX on Christmas Eve.

Together at Christmas 2025 will feature musical performances and readings by guests including Hannah Waddingham, Dan Smith, Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor, as well as carol singing from the world-renowned Abbey Choir.

Kate’s also enlisted the help of Dame Mary Berry to make the wreaths for her 2025 event, with her sharing on Instagram yesterday: “A heartfelt thank you to Tom Allen, Dame Mary Berry, Angellica Bell, Simon Lycett and Arit Anderson for their wonderful contributions in making this celebration extra special,” they said. “Join us as nature, music, and community come together for a joyful Christmas service at Westminster Abbey.”

But it’s the Princess of Wales’s outfit choices that have become the real star of the show, with Kate’s looks providing festive style inspiration for the ages.

She kicked things off in 2021 with a crimson red coatdress by Catherine Walker, featuring shoulder pleats that descended from the shoulder, draping into an oversized bow.

This was paired with a red Miu Miu clutch, Gianvito Rossi suede pumps and the Queen Mother’s Sapphire and Diamond Earrings.

For the second year of Kate’s carol service, she donned a whole burgundy look, including a coat dress from Eponine London.

In 2023, the Princess of Wales looked positively angelic in a contemporary all-white look from various designers. The outfit included a custom coat by Savile Row tailor Chris Kerr, a Kiltane sweater, and high-waisted Holland Cooper trousers. She accessorised with a Strathberry handle bag, beige suede heels and drop earrings.

For 2024’s ‘Together at Christmas’ celebrations Kate reverted to red again, rewearing an old favourite Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton coat, jazzing it up with a black bow from Jigsaw, a tartan skirt and black suede boots.

Kate’s 2025 look was another re-worked rewear, with the Princess donning a bespoke forest green Caroline Walker coat that she’s been seen wearing before. This time, she accessorised with a Troy London faux fur collar, Ralph Lauren suede boots and white gold diamond drop earrings.
