Kate Middleton wore her favourite festive pattern for Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace

Kate Middleton was pictured this afternoon wearing a tartan dress believed to be by British designer, Emilia Wickstead.

Arriving to the Queen's Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, the Duchess was seen through the window of her car wearing a tartan number by the designer.

The dress retails for £1920 and is available to buy now.

Wickstead appears to be a festive favourite of the Duchesses, as she wore the same print by the designer, but in a skirt form, for an event at Kensington Palace last December.

The Duchess was last seen sporting a dress by the British designer earlier this month during a NATO reception at Clarence House.

New Zealand-born Emilia Wickstead, who founded her eponymous label in 2008, has become something of a go-to for the 37-year-old royal, who often opts for the designer's structured yet feminine designs.

Last year for Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, the Duchess wore a pink silk dress.

The Duchess accessorised the festive pattern with pearl earrings and her hair in its usual bouncy blowdry.

Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace occurs annually on the Wednesday before Christmas, shortly before the Queen leaves to spend the festive period at Sandringham.
