Kate Middleton will be back for Wimbledon finals after coming out of self-isolation

Kate Middleton will be back at Wimbledon for the finals this weekend after completing her self-isolation.

The Duchess of Cambridge had to go into Covid quarantine after she reportedly received a message last Friday, possibly from the NHS App, that she had been in contact with someone who had the virus.

Kate will be with Prince William for the women’s final on Saturday between Ashleigh Barty and Karolina Pliskova.

She will then be at the men’s finale on Sunday in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

The Duchess is a keen tennis follower and was hoping to see Brits Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray get to the finals.

Kate is a big fan of the tennis but has missed the past week at Wimbledon due to being self-isolated (PA)

William though will miss the men’s final as he will be going to the final of Euro 2020 between England and Italy at Wembley.

The men’s final is still to be decided, with defending champion Novak Djokovic taking on Denis Shapovalov in one semi and Matteo Berrettini, the winner at Queen’s, and Hubert Hurkacz going head to head in the other.

It was reported that Kate was told that she had to self-isolate as she was sat in the Royal Box at Wimbledon ahead of Brit Dan Evans going out to play last Friday.

It is not sure yet whether she will then head off to watch England against Italy at Wembley on Sunday (PA)

The football will take the priority for William, who is patron of the FA and has been at several Euro 2020 matches.

The big Aston Villa fan has also taken along his eldest son Prince George to soak up the Wembley atmosphere.

It is unclear yet whether Kate will head off after the tennis, possibly even with Prince George, for the England clash.

There is some confusion over when the Duchess came into contact with the person who had a positive Covid test, as current rules mean people need to quarantine for 10 days.

If she was notified last Friday then it would mean she would have missed the weekend matches.
