Kate Middleton wears stunning Elie Saab dress to first day of Royal Ascot

Kate Middleton perfected the Royal Ascot dress code as she arrived at day one of the racing event along with other members of the royal family, including the Queen, Prince William, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

The 37-year-old wore a custom powder blue ensemble by Lebanese designer Elie Saab for day one of the Berkshire event.

The stunning dress was made up of a statement pussy bow shirt, which featured sheer sleeves, intricate lace embroidery and a matching tulle skirt that shared the blouse's polka dot print.

Similar to a look from Elie Saab's Resort 2019 collection, the dress had been adjusted to include long sleeves to adhere to the Royal Ascot dress code. The original, short sleeved shirt is still available to purchase for £1,275.

Kate paired the look with a coordinating Philip Tracey hat which featured a statement blue flower.

Shying away from her usual classic accessories, the mum-of-three debuted a pair of metallic heels and matching silver clutch bag.

Much like any other well-dressed couple at Royal Ascot, Prince William, who accompanied Kate, was dressed in complementing shades, his light blue waistcoat perfectly matching his wife's outfit.
