Kate Middleton Visits Kent’s Marina Mill, Celebrates Traditional Fabric-Making

Kate Middleton has been spotted carrying out a royal engagement in Kent, looking effortlessly elegant as she visited a family-run mill. The Princess of Wales was without Prince William on this occasion, but she seemed perfectly at ease as she got stuck in at Marina Mill, where fabric is still hand-drawn, printed, and finished with traditional techniques.

Wearing a black shirt under an apron, paired with simple silver earrings and light make-up that highlighted her features, Kate tried her hand at screen printing alongside the mill workers. In photos shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales’s official Instagram account, she was all smiles as she rolled up her sleeves.

“A wonderful time learning how to screen print at the family-run Marina Mill in Kent, where every fabric is hand-drawn, printed and finished with remarkable skill!” the caption read, alongside a carousel of images from the day.

Kate was later pictured slipping on a coordinating coat while chatting warmly to staff and learning more about the history of the business. Observers noted how engaged she seemed during the tour, taking real interest in the process and the people behind it. The Instagram post summed up the visit as “a true celebration of the creativity and passion that defines the UK’s textiles identity.”

The appearance comes shortly after Kate and William marked a poignant anniversary at the Women’s Institute in Sunningdale, near Windsor Castle. In a video posted to their social media channels, the couple joined members of the branch for tea, cake, and conversation in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The caption explained, “Cake and conversation to mark three years since the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It was very special to hear from those who had met Her Late Majesty, and reflect on the impact she had within the @womensinstitute, as a longstanding member.” The message ended with a simple, “Thank you to the ladies of the Sunningdale WI for having us.”

The Princess of Wales has long championed community-focused visits and creative industries, and this latest engagement highlights her ongoing support for British craft and heritage. From the family-run mill in Kent to the intimate gathering in Sunningdale, Kate has once again struck a balance between honouring tradition and showing her approachable side.
