Kate Middleton is a “brilliant arbiter and peacemaker” and is doing her best to end the feud between Prince Harry and William, said her uncle Gary Goldsmith.
Harry has been scathing in his attacks on the Royal Family since moving to the United States and his insistence in talking publicly about private disputes appears to be seeing him lose support in opinion polls.
Goldsmith, 56, who is brother to Kate's mother Carole, described the duchess as a "brilliant arbiter and peacemaker" and insisted she is doing everything she can to make things right between her husband and his brother.
He said the Duke of Sussex, 36, needs to "get a grip" and stop his "self-indulgent episode" before it gets to the point where there is "no common ground or relationship to rebuild".
The Ibiza-based recruitment consultant said everyone has been left "astonished" by Harry's outbursts, which include accusing the Royal Family of racism and neglect in a series of interviews with Oprah Winfrey.

He told Closer: "If Harry doesn't get a grip and stop this self-indulgent episode, there will soon be no common ground or relationship to rebuild.
"But if anyone can bring peace to the royals, Kate can. Kate is a brilliant arbiter and peacemaker. Every bone in her body is about making friends and doing the best she can... she's trying to mediate."
Prince Charles has come in for criticism with Harry saying he did not do enough to look after him and William following Diana’s death.

The Duke of Sussex also said Charles and William are both “trapped” within the Royal Family.
Harry has been opening up in various interviews in the US with his latest a series on mental health that he has co-produced with Oprah Winfrey called “The Me You Can’t See”.
Goldsmith said it was evident at Prince Philip ’s funeral how she sought to get William and Harry talking.
He continued: “You could see at the funeral that Kate was there trying to make peace, bringing the brothers together.

“Harry and Kate were great friends, they were a trio with William and a strong unit. Family and relationships are everything to Kate – she’s very nurturing, she wouldn’t like that [rift] happening and she is trying to look after her husband and do what she can to make things right.”
Harry has said he is more relaxed now living in California, saying that life as a royal was like living in a “zoo”. He claimed he knew when he was in his early 20s that he didn’t want to be there.
He has also said that the Royal Family were not supportive of him and his wife Meghan Markle after they got married and especially when she was struggling with her mental health.
