Kate Middleton trolled Prince Harry with savage Christmas present

The royal family have traditionally bought each other cheap and tacky gifts for Christmas.

And it is a joke celebration that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have happily joined in with over the last few years.

Before her wedding to Prince William in 2011, Kate was very close pals with Prince Harry.

The pair have been photographed together at many public engagements and their children reportedly get on very well together.

The Mirror reports that Kate bought here brother-in-law a savage present one year - a 'grow-your-own-girlfriend' kit.

Because the family all sit down and open their Christmas presents together - the Queen watched Harry open it.

Prince Harry can dish it out too, though.

He apparently once gave his grandmother a shower cap which said 'ain't life a b*tch' on the front.

While Meghan Markle also gave the Queen a singing hamster toy at her first royal Christmas in 2017.

The Monarch apparently loved the gift - that was reportedly broken by a corgi later in the day.

This year, however, the royals' will be spending Christmas separately.

The Queen and Philip will spend the day in Windsor, where they have been throughout lockdown.

While Kate, William, George, Charlotte and Louis are expected to spend the day with the Middleton family.

It is understood Meghan, Harry and Archie will be in America.

Insiders say the Queen's hopes her decision to scrap tradition this year will inspire others to adhere to strict Covid lockdown rules.

A Palace source said: “The Queen is acutely aware of the need for caution throughout the crisis and the Christmas period is no different.

“The Queen and The Duke are fortunate to spend Christmas with their family every year.

“They understand that their family will have competing demands over the Christmas period and are content to have a quiet festive season this year.

“Like everyone they hope things will get back to normal in 2021.”
