'Kate Middleton stole show as proud William showed shyness with secret gesture'

Last night saw Kate Middleton glitter in shimmering gold as she and husband Prince William joined Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, for the London premiere of the new James Bond film No Time To Die.

The four royals walked the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall, joined by members of the film cast including Daniel Craig - whose appearance is his final one in the spy franchise - Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux and Lashana Lynch.

Wearing a gold sequinned Jenny Packham cape gown and with her hair swept into a complicated up do, the Duchess of Cambridge was giving full glam - without a face mask in sight.

Wills opted for a 007-style black tuxedo, as did his dad Charles, while Camilla joined Kate in wearing a floor-length sparkling gown, this time in pale blue by the Queen's favourite designer Bruce Oldfield.

Here, body language expert Judi James explains what the royals were giving away through their subconscious gestures and facial expressions...

In a sharp-shouldered, glimmering shower of a dress reminiscent of the elegant style of the golden days of Hollywood, Kate managed to eclipse an entire red carpet of Bond stars at their premiere last night.

A dress like that requires confidence and elegance to do it justice and, with no bag in her hands to clutch at, Kate more than did it justice, walking the length of the carpet with her arms hanging at her sides and only joining her hands with a light touch of the fingers when she stopped to speak to and laugh with her hosts.

William, who clearly loves to see himself as a bit of a Bond hero on a red-carpet night out, appeared blown away by his wife, beaming and standing almost shyly and sheepishly with his hands in the fig-leaf pose, or rubbing his hands together as they walked along.

Kate greeted Camilla with an affectionate-looking kiss on the cheek and hand on the arm but it was very much her night in what must turn out to be one of her most iconic outfits.

All eyes and smiles were aimed in her direction, which might just have prompted Charles’s downward glance as he posed in a royal line-up and possibly realised he’d missed out on the spotlight once again.
