Kate Middleton sports festive cardigan as she teases first look at Christmas concert

The Duchess of Cambridge sports a Christmas cardigan as she offers a first look at her star-studded Christmas carol concert.

The concert, hosted by Kate and called Together At Christmas, took place at Westminster Abbey earlier this month but is being shown on ITV on Christmas Eve.

And in a short trailer for the show released today, Kate wears a red festive red Miu Miu buttoned-up cardigan as she tells the camera: "I'm so excited to be hosting Together At Christmas here at Westminster Abbey."

Voiced by actor James McAvoy, the short promotional clip also features a host of festive performances, readings and carols.

Among the familiar faces making an appearance are TV presenter Kate Garraway, and singers Tom Walker, Ellie Goulding and Leona Lewis.

The event pays tribute to the incredible work of individuals and organisations across the UK who have supported their communities through the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the service earlier this month, Kate was supported by other royals, who turned out for the event.

They included her husband Prince William as well as Zara and Mike Tindall, Sophie Wessex and Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Kate's family including her mum Carole, dad Michael, sister Pippa and brother James were also in attendance.

The festive bonanza was filmed by BBC Studios but will be screened by ITV because of a royal row over last month's documentary on Wills and Harry last month.

Kate wore a Catherine Walker coat and sapphire diamond fringed earrings on loan from the Queen for the event.

And she also wrote a foreword in the Abbey's order of service for the concert.

She said: "The Covid-19 pandemic has presented us all with countless and previously unimaginable challenges. We have lost loved ones, seen our frontline workers placed under immeasurable pressure, and we have experienced heart-wrenching isolation from those we hold most dear.

“Alongside this, we have seen how communities have come together to support those most in need. And through our separation from others, we have been reminded just how powerful human connection is to us all.

"Just how much we need one another. And how loving and feeling a sense of belonging to one another can provide comfort in tough times. The importance of simply being together.

“In our roles, William and I are so fortunate to meet and spend time with phenomenal people across the country who day-in-day-out support individuals and families. And over the past two years, we have been truly inspired by countless people who have brought their communities together through simple acts of long and kindness.

"This carol service is our small way of recognising the inspiring contribution so many of you have made. Thank you."

Royal Carols: Together At Christmas will air on Christmas Eve at 7.30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
