Kate Middleton's sweet message to well-wishers hours after posting new Prince George snaps

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have thanked fans who have wished their son Prince George a happy seventh birthday.

The couple shared two new photos of the royal youngest last night ahead of the big day, to the delight of well-wishers around the world.

The snaps were taken by proud mum Kate in Norfolk, where the family have spent lockdown.

Today, they reshared the more casual of the two photos with a thank you message.

They wrote: "Thank you everyone for your very kind wishes on Prince George’s birthday today!"

Hundreds of people have commented on the original posts to with the future king a happy birthday.

One wrote: "Happy 7th Birthday sweetest little Prince George. You're such a handsome and adorable boy, we love you so much . Hope you have a wonderful day with your family tomorrow."

Another wrote: "My gosh he looks such a grown up handsome little lad. Happy birthday Prince George."

A third added: "He’s growing up too fast! happy birthday George!"

The Queen also took to social media to wish him a happy birthday, sharing one of Kate's photos.

She wrote: "Wishing Prince George a very happy seventh birthday today!

"This photograph - taken by The Duchess of Cambridge - has been shared by Kensington Palace to mark the day."

As has become traditional for the Cambridge family, Kate took the official birthday snaps and has been widely praised for her efforts.

The photos show a relaxed George, who is showing off his adorable toothy grin in both shots.

Mirror royal snapper Ian Vogler said: “Once again, Kate has captured two really lovely, natural shots of George which shows she’s developed a real talent for spotting a great picture.”
