Kate Middleton's parents' £5million mansion to 'house' Ukrainian refugees

Carole and Michael Middleton, the parents of the Duchess of Cambridge, are reportedly preparing to welcome a refugee family into their mansion. The couple, who live in Bucklebury, Berkshire, are said to be looking into constructing an annexe at their manor for Ukrainian refugees to live in.

Kate's parents may have been inspired by their neighbour, former presenter of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' Chris Tarrant, who recently welcomed a family fleeing the Russian invasion into his home. The rumoured plans of the Middletons' were shared with the Mail on Sunday by a source.

The insider told the publication: "Carole talked about wanting refugees to feel they have their own space in her home and has been talking about the logistics of how it all works. There have been a few conversations about this, back and forth.

"Carole suggested she and some of those who are housing refugees should meet up, to get to know each other and because she wants to find a way to house refugees herself."

Reportedly, one of the plans drawn up by the Middletons is to convert one of the living rooms in their £5million home into separate accommodation for the family. Although, Carole and Michael will need to ensure that the chosen plan is a safe one, as their daughter, Kate and son-in-law, William often visit the home with their children - George, Charlotte, and Louis - with the Cambridges' security staying in the main house.

According to broadcaster Chris Tarrant, hosting a Ukrainian family is a 'delightful' experience. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Chris said: "They're just so sweet.

"Absolutely delightful. It's a mum, a daughter whose about 30 and a dear little baby, 10-months-old, and it's just amazing."

He added: "They were sleeping on the floors in airports in Poland and now they're at my place and the little baby, you look at it, and it's 10 months, dear little girl just about trying to walk and you just think, 'what would your life be like if you were still back there?' in that sick, evil world they're experiencing. It's just horrific."

The 75-year-old former Capital Radio host also shared that he was angry with the British Government's list of rules and checks stopping others who want to host Ukrainian refugees. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, meanwhile, have previously stated that their three children were affected by the Ukrainian refugee crisis when the family visited a relief centre.

Kate and William, both 40, visited a Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Holland Park, London back in March. Kate appeared to be emotional during the visit.

Prince William said: "It’s very alien to see this in Europe. We are all behind you. We feel so useless."
