Kate Middleton's children's nanny is banned from saying a common word as 'mark of respect'

When carrying out their royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have one of the best nannies to look after Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Maria Borrallo, who trained at the famous Norland College, was hired by Kate and William when George was just a few months old.

And ever since she has becoming a massive helping hand and has settled well into royal family life.

But there is one word Maria is banned from saying whenever she's in front of the royal children, and it's all because of her training.

According to author Louise Heren, who spent at Norland College researching for a documentary, students are taught never to say the word kids.

Instead, youngsters should always be referred to as children or by their names.

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: "The word kid is banned. It's a mark of respect for the children as individuals."

And despite being three of the most famous children in the world, Louise believes George, Charlotte and Louis lead normal lives at home.

She said: "Given what we have seen of Catherine when she is out in public, she's very hands on.

"I imagine her relationship with Maria is very close and they collaborate greatly on the care of the children.

"I've spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal.

"You get up, have breakfast, you go to school and you wear your school uniform whether you like it or not.

"It would be quite like the average British school children."

However, its not the only rule that's been laid down in the Cambridge household, according to a source.

They told the Sun : "Shouting is absolutely ‘off limits’ for the children and any hint of shouting at each other is dealt with by removal."

But rather be sent off to their bedrooms or to the naughty step when they act up, the royal couple have a different technique - the sofa chat.

The source added: "The naughty child is taken away from the scene of the row or disruption and talked to calmly by either Kate or William.

"Things are explained and consequences outlined and they never shout at them."
