Kate Middleton popped to her local Sainsbury's to buy Prince George and Princess Charlotte's Halloween costumes

It's almost Halloween and parents and carers across the country are busy getting their little ones' spooky outfits ready for the big day.

Whilst some creative parents are knee-deep in the PVA glue and papier-mache, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for their youngster, others have flocked to their local supermarket to snap up a bargain: be it a witch, wizard, ghoul, mummy or skeleton costume or other scary fancy dress.

And it seems the Duchess of Cambridge is no different and has previously bought Prince George and Princess Charlotte's Halloween costumes in her local Sainsbury's supermarket, reports The Mirror.

Just two years ago, the future Queen was spotted in her local Sainsbury's in Hardwick Industrial Estate, Norfolk and was overheard asking some of the children in the shop what they were going to dress up as.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were with their mum and followed her around as she did her spooky shopping.

Mum-of-four Kathy Whittaker later spoke of her surprise to see the Duchess browsing the clothes rails in the supermarket, while her six-foot bodyguard lingered close by.

"Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn't believe it," Kathy said. "She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures.

"I managed to get the photo as she was at the self-service check out.

"You just don't expect it to happen, you think Kate would shop in Waitrose or Harrods."

This is not the only time glamorous Kate has been spotted shopping in Sainsbury's.

She was seen browsing the clothing section of Sainsbury's in King's Lynn in 2020, whilst in 2018 she ventured to discount store The Range in King's Lynn to pick herself up a bargain.
