Kate Middleton has big plans for George, Charlotte and Louis - and they sound very fun

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are said to be determined to give their children the most 'normal' upbringing possible, despite their royal status.

And there is one very normal thing Kate wants Prince George , Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to do when they are a bit older - join the Scouts.

The Duchess explained why she was so keen for her three kids to be part of the organisation during a visit to their Essex headquarters .

Explorer Scout Tahseen Patel, 17, gave Kate a tour during her visit.

She said: "She was interested in the early years and how you learn things in Scouting that you don't learn in school and elsewhere, like you learn way more things in Scouting.

Why Meghan Markle probably won't ask Kate Middleton and William to be baby's Godparents

"And how she wants her children to grow up in the Scouting movement, not just in school, because she tries doing things at home but there's only so much you can do and you need to build relationships with other people."

George is five, which means he's still young to join the first level of the organisation - Beavers.

However during her visit today Kate heard about plans to welcome kids as young at a new level called Hedgehogs.

Prince Harry 'banished' loyal childhood pal after he told him not to marry Meghan Markle

Asked if Prince George had joined the Scouts, Tahseen said: "He hasn't yet, but she said she'd love him to."

Kate also told Tahseen that George hasn't joined yet but said she would "love him to", along with Charlotte and Louis.

Charlotte is three and Louis is 11-months-old, so they've got a long wait if the new level isn't introduced.

During her visit Kate got inside a den built by Beaver Scouts and the group tested whether it was waterproof by pouring water onto it.

Frankii Newbery, 29, who is helping to develop the pilot scheme for younger children, said: "The duchess, braver than I am, got straight in there with one of our Beavers and had a whale of a time.

"She was straight in there and just thoroughly loving it, it was just fantastic to watch."
