Kate Middleton has been leaving personal comments under people's Instagram posts

The Duchess of Cambridge has been leaving personal comments under people's Instagram posts during lockdown.

The messages - signed off with a 'C' for Catherine - have been left under entries to her photography project, Hold Still.

In early May, the Duchess called on fellow photography enthusiasts to get behind the camera and capture family life in lockdown.

The initiative, Hold Still, was launched with the National Portrait Gallery, of which Kate is a patron.

Entrants are invited to post a picture and share it with the hashtag #HoldStill.

"Thank you so much for sharing your story and for all the amazing work you continue to do at this difficult time. C." she wrote under one post of a healthcare worker, while under another shot of a child blowing a dandelion she commented, "A perfect example of Hold Still… the chance to re-engage and value the simple things around us. C."

Both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been active on social media since lockdown, swapping in-person visits for Zoom calls with frontline workers and charities and launching a mental health initiative to support people struggling with the stay-at-home rules.

The couple is currently out of London staying at Anmer Hall, their country home in Norfolk, with their three children Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.
