Kate Middleton debuts modern pair of lace-up L.K. Bennett ankle boots - and they're currently on sale

The Duchess of Cambridge was a vision in green as she stepped out to support one of her patronages, children's charity Place2Be, on Tuesday.

For her visit to Lavender Primary School, Kate stood out in a bright shift dress by London-based brand Eponine teamed with a pair of chunky ankle boots.

Usually one to favour her signature nude pumps or a plain court shoe, the mother-of-three upped her footwear game with something more modern.

The contemporary choice, which featured lace-up detail and a block heel, was a far cry from her usual footwear and many fashion commentators praised the switch up. One Twitter user wrote: "Damn Kate, you’ve really stepped up your boot game," with another adding: "Love the boots that Kate is wearing!"

What wasn't surprising, however, was that the shoes were from Kate's go-to high-street brand, L.K. Bennett.

The Marissa Black Suede Ankle Boots, which are still available to purchase, are described on the fashion site as: "The perfect boot for dressing up the simplest of winter looks."

They are also in the sale, down from £295 to a slightly more affordable £199. Thanks to the 'Kate Effect', they are already selling out fast, so it you like what you see, we suggest you hit the 'add to basket' button fast.
