Kate Middleton breaks Queen's golden rule by sharing favourite foods

Kate Middleton appears to have shared a secret that the Queen has kept closely guarded for the entire length of her 70-year reign.

The Queen is believed to have never disclosed her favourite food outside of palace walls - but after 70 years of silence, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton appears to have broken the Queen’s golden rule, reports MyLondon.

Members of the Queen’s household have previously told royal correspondents that the monarch keeps her favourite foods private for one very important reason - if she disclosed it, she would never be served anything else!

However, back in 2018, Kate Middleton broke this tradition during an official visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital, the most famous children’s hospital in the UK.

Speaking to four-year-old Rafael Chana, who was in hospital waiting for a heart transplant, the Duchess of Cambridge shared some candid facts about her and her family’s food heaven.

Rafael told Kate that he enjoyed olives, and she replied she loved them as a child too.

"I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well," the Duchess said.

They also talked about their love of pasta, with the duchess revealing her own daughter, Charlotte, enjoys pasta too. Royal correspondent Rebecca English later posted on Twitter: "The Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves olives and she encourages both her and Prince George to cook with her."

For the Queen, although her favourite food remains unknown, a former royal chef has revealed her Majesty loves chocolate. Most popular is a chocolate biscuit cake, which includes plenty of rich tea biscuits and chocolate "icing" that is pure dark chocolate, according to chef Darren McGrady.
