Kate Middleton becomes Edinburgh DJ on visit to music project but William less than impressed

Kate Middleton failed to hit the right notes on a visit to an Edinburgh youth project with husband Prince William - with the Duke joking that her attempt at DJing “hurt his ears”.

The royal couple kicked off a week-long tour to Scotland with a trip to Heavy Sound CIC, which uses music to help youngsters back into education.

It saw Kate try her hand at laying down a beat, but the end result left plenty to be desired, with the Duchess insisting her track be deleted as soon as they left.

In a short clip posted online, Kate’s experimentation with sound mixing equipment provokes a less than complimentary reaction from William.

In the video, William can be heard saying: “Please turn that off it’s hurting my ears.”

As the pair are leaving, Kate adds: "“Sorry for leaving such a terrible song, delete it, delete it.”

Kate has joined William on the trip north of the border this week, which will include visits to Orkney and Fife, where the couple met at university in St Andrews.

William is also due to speak at the opening and closing ceremonies of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

But the Duke was spotted indulging one of his passions at the weekend, taking in the Scottish Cup final at a rooftop bar in Edinburgh with a number of specially-invited NHS workers.

The couple are also to host Scottish NHS staff at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for a special drive-in screening of the new Disney film Cruella, according to Tatler.
