Kate Middleton beams at sweet surprise during George, Charlotte and Louis's garden trip

The Duchess of Cambridge invited four very special guests to get a sneak peak of the garden she designed for the Chelsea Flower Show - her husband Prince William and kids George, Charlotte and Louis.

The family spent about an hour exploring the Back to Nature garden, which features a rope swing, a campfire and a rustic den.

The family shared gorgeous photos and video from their visit showing the Cambridges playing completely naturally as a family.

And Kate has now revealed that there was one thing about her visit that really surprised her - in a really, really nice way.

Kate Middleton breaks important rule with latest snaps of George, Charlotte and Louis

She designed the garden taking inspiration from her own childhood, with the aim of encouraging children to play outside.

But the ways that George, Charlotte and Louis enjoyed the space wasn't what she was expecting, and she loved seeing them decide what to do.

Speaking to a visit to the garden this morning she said: "It was interesting with the children yesterday running around.

Meghan Markle's fans baffled by key details on Archie's birth certificate - here's what they mean

"My children played in it last night in a way I hadn't imagined so they were throwing stones.

"I hadn't actually thought that's what they would be doing, they kicked their shoes off and wanted to paddle in the stream with their feet.

"Using it in a way I hadn't necessarily said to, and that's why it's great seeing your kids here as well enjoying it."

How sweet!

Photos and videos from the visit show little Louis walking for the first time and his big brother George and big sister Charlotte.

The whole family had a go on the rope swing and they all played in a den made from sticks.

George and Charlotte took of their shoes and went for a paddle in a small stream, while mum Kate helped pick up stones with Louis.
