Kate Middleton looked a picture of happiness this afternoon as it was revealed the Queen has handed over a special role.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been announced as the new Patron of The Royal Photographic Society - a position Her Majesty, 93, has held for the past 67 years.
And it is the perfect fit for 37-year-old mum Kate, who has a keen interest in photography and regularly takes stunning portrait snaps of her three children.
Kate stepped out in a summer dress as she attended a photography workshop today run by The Royal Photographic Society and Action for Children, which is another of The Duchess’s patronages.
She was joined in Kingston upon Thames, south-west London, by children from the charity in several sessions, run with Royal Photographic Society Honorary Fellows Jillian Edelstein and Harry Borden.
The Duchess and the youngsters were shown the ropes of various elements of photography, such as portraits, light and colour.
Alongside developing new skills, the workshop aimed to highlight how photography provides a universal language for young people to express themselves and release their thoughts and feelings.
The Duchess has a longstanding interest in photography.
This patronage will further highlight the beneficial impact that art and creativity can have on emotional wellbeing, particularly for children and young people.
Kate has taken many gorgeous snaps of children Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one, which have been released to the public.
In April, Kate shared three adorable photographs of Louis to mark his first birthday.
With his knitted sweater, smart white collar and neatly parted hair, the birthday boy looked a real chip off the old block.
The rosy cheeked royal giggled as he was covered in greenery while crawling about in the garden, proudly showing off his two little front teeth.
The adorable photographs were taken in the grounds of the family’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall and released by the Royal Family.

Meanwhile, the Royal Photographic Society is one of the world's oldest photographic societies.
It was founded in 1853 with the objective of promoting the art and science of photography, and in the same year received Royal patronage from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
The Society has over 11,000 members and runs an extensive programme of more than 500 events throughout the United Kingdom and internationally.
Her Royal Highness was made an Honorary Member of the Royal Photographic Society in January 2017.
