The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a secret third home in Scotland, it has been reported.
The home in the Scottish countryside is so private there appears to be no pictures of it, but we do know that the three-bedroom is on the 50,000-acre Balmoral estate.
Situated in Aberdeenshire, the Queen's holiday home is regularly visited by Prince William and Kate along with their children George, Charlotte, and Louis.
However, when they visit, the Duke and Duchess have the option of staying in their extremely private personal cottage.
The home, called Tam-Na-Ghar cottage, was gifted to Prince William by his late great-grandmother, the Queen Mother shortly before her death in 2002.
William and Kate have reportedly used the cottage as a retreat since the days when they were students at St Andrew's University.
It has been reported they told friends some of their happiest times were there.
The couple stayed at the cottage in 2019 with their children with a source telling Vanity Fair at the time: "The Queen has a lot of guests coming and to ease the pressure the Cambridges are likely to stay at the cottage.
"That could have added benefits for everyone as it means more space in the castle.”
There are 150 buildings in total on the Balmoral estate, including the main Balmoral Castle, and also Birkhall, which is owned by Prince Charles.
William and Kate will use their Scottish home, as well as their Norfolk mansion Anmer Hall, more often in future.
That is because a royal expert has said the Cambridges will opt for only UK-based breaks with their three children as they prepare for their future roles.
Royal author Katie Nicholl says the approach to family holidays will be filled with fun outdoor activities, but closer to home.
"Summer holidays at Anmer are the perfect way for Kate and William to decompress," she told OK!.
"If there are royal engagements for them, they’ll be few and far between.
"While in the past we’ve seen the couple enjoy more lavish holidays skiing or visiting sunnier climates, they’ve been adopting a more traditional royal approach and spending their time at royal residences in the UK instead.
"This could obviously be the result of Covid travel restrictions, but I also believe that Kate and William are transforming into the future King and Queen and therefore are adopting more traditional practices."
