Their plans to have a baby were kick started after the couple were forced to postpone their wedding amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Friends and family suggested the lovebirds could have a baby beforehand - and the plan was born.

She told Hello magazine : "The wedding got cancelled and I wasn't thinking about a baby at all. But when we rebooked it for the following year, a few of our friends and family said we could have a baby between now and then. I laughed.

"But then I turned 40 in May and suddenly I felt grown up and like I was ready for something and I didn't know what it was.

"We realised we would have to start trying straight away to avoid having a newborn at the wedding. So we did. We gave it one shot. And it happened!"

No doubt the happy news was welcomed by the couple after Kate feared their wedding would never happen.

Their second wedding date was cancelled and the pair struggled to find another date.

She wrote on Instagram at the time: "Beginning to wonder if our wedding will ever happen. June 13th 2020 got moved to September 26th 2020.

"Now we're struggling to find a date in 2021 due to so many couples being in the same boat or having already booked their weddings for next year."
