Kate Hudson shares adorable snap of baby Rani as newborn turns one month old

Kate Hudson has shared a snap of newborn daughter Rani as she turned one month old on Tuesday.

Hudson welcomed her baby girl in early October and chose to mark the milestone moment with an adorable picture of Rani with cute pink headwear and resting on a pink blanket.

The Almost Famous actress kept the caption simple by writing “#WhatAMonth” with a heart emoji.

Hudson, 39, gave birth to Rani on October 2, her first child with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, and also shared the special meaning behind the newborn’s moniker.

In a series of statements on pink backgrounds, Hudson, 39, said: “We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa.

"Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honour. Everyone is doing well and happy as can be.

"Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back."

Hudson, who is the daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn, also has two sons from previous relationships – Ryder Russell, 14, and Bingham Hawn, seven, who she shares with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.

The star announced her first pregnancy with musician boyfriend Fujikawa back in April in a sweet Instagram video, revealing that she had “never been more sick”.

After apologising for her then-recent social media absence, she explained: “Boomerangs have made me nauseous, Superzoom is an easy way to have my head in the toilet, food instagrams make me queezy and thinking too much about insta stories made me even more exhausted than I already had been.

"And it's too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it!."
