Kate has grown 'more regal' than royals due to Middleton trait, author claims

Since officially joining the royal family in 2011, the Duchess of Cambridge has becoming a leading figure among senior roles, with the Queen said to be leaning on her more than ever.

Over the last few years, Kate has really come into her own and according to one royal author, she may have surpassed the rest of the family - at least when it comes being regal.

In a Channel 5 documentary, Kate: Our Queen in Waiting, royal author Tom Quinn claimed the Duchess had become "more regal" than the royal family, thanks to a Middleton trait - making it a real "paradox.

His comments were prompted a photo taken at the funeral of the late Prince Philip, where Kate wore "an elegant Katherine Walker dress coat with the bow on the shoulder, the netting in the hair and the incredibly glossy hair," as per the Express.

"She has a kind of poise, almost a stillness, so I think all the focus, without her really trying was on her. She almost looked more regal than the Royal Family," Quinn said.

"What a paradox that was, especially seeing as she wasn’t born into it."

Although Kate wasn't born into royalty, she was born into an upper-middle class family, with her father being the son of a wealthy Yorkshire family with ties to the British aristocracy.

She and Prince William are currently carrying out royal duties in Jamaica, and recently visited Shortwood Teacher Training College in Kingston, where they met with students training to become early childhood education practitioners.

William decided to step back and let Kate talk about her field, expressing: "I'm out of my depth here! I'm listening," to which Kate responded: "No you're not! You hear me chatting about it!"
