Kate Middleton has been rewarded with a special gift for her services to the Crown.
The Queen has given Duchess of Cambridge, 37, a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (RVO), which is the monarch's highest seal of approval.
Buckingham Palace made announcement on Kate and Prince William's eighth wedding anniversary.
Awards under the Royal Victorian Order are made personally by The Queen, who last week turned 93 .
They also are not made on the recommendations of Downing Street.
The RVO has five classes from member to Knight or Dame Grand Cross, and Kate follows in the footsteps of the Duchess of Cornwall, who received the same honour in the Queen's 2012 Diamond Jubilee year.
It is likely the honour recognises Kate's work over the past eight years as a member of the monarchy.
