Kate Garraway backed her co-host Alex Beresford on Good Morning Britain today as he appeared on the presenting panel for the first time since his on-air spat with Piers Morgan.
Kate welcomed him back to presenting duties as he had around ten days off.
Just before his time off, Alex went viral online after his on-air spat with former presenter Piers Morgan, over his comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Following Alex's comments Piers stormed off set before quitting the show completely just hours later.
Many called for Alex - who has hosted the show in the past - to permanently replace Piers on the presenting panel alongside Susanna Reid, even though he regularly hosts the weather segment.

As Alex opened the show with Kate on Friday morning, Kate said it was good to see him beside her as she talked of "tumultuous times", The Mirror writes.
While she didn't reference anything in particular, some viewers took it as her commenting on the fallout of his row with Piers - while it's been a good while since they hosted together so she may have been talking about other things.
Kate told him: "And you've had tumultuous times as well Alex, it's lovely to have you here, it very much is".
Alex replied: "It's good to be back," as he smiled at her lovely words.
Piers is yet to be permanently replaced, and Ben Shephard has been standing in for him temporarily, with Adil Ray also hosting this week before Alex.
According to reports, Alex has already received multiple lucrative offers from American news shows and major radio opportunities after the clip of him with Piers went viral.

Alex, 40, had challenged Piers on his "trashing" of Meghan following her interview with Oprah Winfrey alongside husband Prince Harry.
Meghan said she felt suicidal while pregnant with Archie, and Piers said he "didn't believe a word" of what she was saying - with his remarks sparking a record-breaking number of Ofcom complaints.
He marched off the set saying "I am not having this" as Alex branded him "diabolical" before Piers quit his role as host that night.
Alex later spoke out on Twitter, admitting he didn't want things to go the way they did while Piers revealed he had cleared his dressing room this week, denying he would ever return.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
