Kate Garraway's hair "turned ginger" over Christmas after an accident with a home root dye kit.
As the 54-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain, she admitted that she was "a bit bewildered by how ginger [she] had become over the festive period".
Kate told hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard that even her 12-year-old son said he "didn't think anything could save it".

Ben asked: "What was it? Was it the egg nog?", the Irish Mirror reports.
Kate replied: "Home root dye.
"Even Bill said, 'I don't think anything can save this, mum.' But not even solid shampooing after the last few days has calmed it down a tad."
Susanna disagreed, adding: "I think it looks lovely!". to which Kate said: "But the problem is, Susanna, that you're so lovely that you would never tell me the truth!"
Ben added: "She has got a point."
Susanna replied: "Really? I think I'm pretty well known for being brutally honest."
Kate was awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Years Honours list for 2022.
The 54-year-old was given the gong after documenting her husband Derek Draper's battle with coronavirus.
She appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss her achievement alongside show hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Bacon, and said: "I actually feel really awkward about all it really - I don't know why because I'm really honoured."
