Kate Garraway still being 'mum and dad' to kids even though Covid -striken husband Derek Draper is now home
Since Derek was released from hospital Kate has spoken openly about how her children Darcey, 15, and 11-year-old William, have adjusted to having dad home.
Given that Derek needs round-the-clock care, Kate admitted she is still fulfilling both parenting roles in the home.
Speaking in an interview with Iain Dale on LBC ahead of the release of her book, The Power of Hope, on Thursday, Kate said: "I'm so proud of them. They don't seem to go and ask him to be anything he can't be.

"They will talk to him all the time, they chatter away to him and hug him all the time now they can actually hug him," writes the Manchester Evening News.
She also said that they have been "amazing" throughout but is aware she is being "mum and dad" even though "dad is home now."
"But it's a different dad at the moment," she added.
Kate said that since their dad has returned home, Darcey and Billy have been able to make Derek smile in a "reassuring way", before explaining that her husband smiles at things that he would have found funny before he became ill.

The Good Morning Britain host also said there are bittersweet moments at home when her children do things that "Derek would love".
