Kate Garraway steps out in cheerful red coat as she enjoys 'Friday buzz'

Kate Garraway cut a trendy figure as she stepped out on Friday.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, was hard to miss in her bold and bright ensemble as she entered Global Studios in London's Leicester Square for her Smooth Radio show.

ITV favourite Kate - whose husband Derek Draper has been in hospital since March 2020 after contracting Covid-19 - looked every inch the stylish star in a pair of flared jeans teamed with white heeled boots.

She tucked a Red Nose Day charity T-shirt into her trousers and caught the eye in a pillar box red coat and matching scarf decorated with white polka dots.

Mother-of-two Kate looked eager to get out of the cold, and inside the studio, as she made her way across the pavement with her mobile phone in one hand.

Kate - who was also armed with a small suitcase - radiated beauty as her blonde locks hung down in a straight style and the thoughtful personality donned a face mask over her nose and mouth.

This morning Kate starred on Good Morning Britain alongside colleagues Ben Shephard, Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Arnold.

During the early morning show, the brave star shared that she was looking forward to the weekend despite her tricky home life.

As she and her costars spoke about Fridays in lockdown, Kate said: "For most of us we’re not really doing anything, but there is still a lovely buzz about Friday."

"Shall we start the Friday feeling now?" she then asked, despite it not even being 7am yet.

She appeared to be in great spirits on Friday as she and the GMB team then went on to share their favourite feel-good Friday tunes, with Ben reading out what had been voted the top five.

As it was revealed that Eye of the Tiger was number one on the list, Kate admitted: "I’ve blowdried my hair a few times to this one getting ready to go out!"

Kate has had a particularly difficult year after her husband Derek fell ill with coronavirus and was admitted to an intensive care unit.

In June 2020, he remained in critical condition after ten weeks, and was in an induced coma, but the following month, he had opened his eyes, but still remained in hospital in a serious condition.

Sadly, Derek is still in hospital and Kate hasn't been able to visit him for weeks.
