Kate Garraway shared the heartbreaking moment her 11-year-old son realised England’s Euro 2020 dreams were dashed following a tense penalty shootout against Italy.
The Good Morning Britain presenter took to Instagram on Sunday night after the devastating result to share a photo of heartbroken Billy, who put his head into the couch in disbelief.
Despite Billy’s disappointment, the broadcaster, 54, praised the Three Lions squad for their performance in the final and throughout the tournament.
She penned alongside the shot: "God it’s heartbreaking isn’t it - but thank you #englandteam for getting us close enough to feel a united moment of joy - and for giving a whole new generation a chance to believe.

"#nextstoptheworldcup #stillproud #euros #football".
Earlier in the week, Kate had shared a sweet video of Billy celebrating England's semi-final win against Denmark while she was spotted wearing a patriotic red and white wig arriving to Global studios in London.
The TV presenter's support for the England team comes as she gave people an update on her husband Derek Draper's health journey.
The mum-of-two was joined by Alastair Campbell on the GMB show this morning and at the beginning of the episode, she mentioned that he knows her "old man".
“I know your old man incredibly well. Used to work with him, occasionally against him," Alastair replied with a grin on his face.
"Yeah I’ve heard all the stories from him, I’ve heard all the stories, he’s warned me so I’m fully braced and prepared," Kate joked.
Alastair then turned the conversation to Derek's ongoing health battle and asked how he's doing.

"He’s alright, he’s alright," Kate told Alastair. "He’s very up and down, we’re certainly not a long way out of the woods."
She then went on to discuss why he came home earlier this year.
Kate explained: "Not because he was better, no. But being home has meant we’ve seen some things improved.

"Definitely having the family around, having the children around has provided stimulation and I think the problem is you latch on to the positives, which is good because you have to, but there’s absolutely no doubt that there are huge challenges ahead," Kate added.
Derek has been ill since March 2020 after he contracted coronavirus and was admitted to an intensive care unit.
