Kate Garraway says that ‘the fingering is being pointed at Dominic Cummings’ on GMB in on-air slip up

Kate Garraway suffered a verbal slip-up while discussing the government lobbying scandal on Good Morning Britain.

Presenting the ITV early morning show on Friday (23 April), Garraway and her co-host Sean Fletcher were joined by former UK prime minister, Gordon Brown.

During the conversation, they talked about senior business figures being given unofficial access to senior Conservative politicians.

“We’ve seen David Cameron come under very serious scrutiny, we’ve seen texts from Boris Johnson being leaked that looked like he might be able to fix the tax situation for James Dyson if he could get involved in helping to supply ventilators,” Garraway told Brown.

“This morning, it looks like the fingering is being pointed at Dominic Cummings for leaking these texts,” she continued, slowing down as she accidentally stumbled over her words mid-sentence.

Garraway has been co-presenting Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid following Piers Morgan’s departure from the show, in addition to her usual Friday presenting spot with Ben Shephard.

The presenter has been praised for bravery and honesty during the last year following her husband Derek Draper’s hospitalisation with Covid-19.

Last week, Draper was finally able to return home over a year after he first contracted coronavirus.
