Kate Garraway said she is 'desperate for a step forward' as she issued an emotional update on her husband's condition.
Derek Draper, has been in hospital since March with coronavirus.
While he is no longer testing positive, Derek is now recovering from the damage the virus has caused to his body.
The mother-of-two was emotional as she spoke of his condition in hospital on Tuesday's show.
She said: "I did go and see Derek yesterday, it was quite a tough visit.
"It's frustrating as it's Billy's birthday today so I think I was probably extra emotional because you think about Derek's involvement...
"It's a stable day but I'm just desperate for a step forward I think, but it is always lovely to see him."

Kate revealed on Monday that nurses had told her that her 52-year-old husband looked "focused and engaged" when they put GMB on for him in hospital.
Kate said Derek had endured a "tough week" following "big falls" in his blood pressure and swelling in his legs.
