Charlotte’s nine-year reign as Olympic individual dressage champion ended at Tokyo Equestrian Park, but her bronze medal saw her break the British record of five Olympic medals she jointly held with rower Dame Katherine Graingerand tennis player Kitty Godfree.

And 54-year-old Kate was quick to recall the terrifying time her 11-year-old boy Billy was dangerously catapulted into the air during a horse riding lesson which went badly wrong.

The animal in question suffered a sudden bout of wind according to Kate, leaving a shell-shocked Billy hurtling to the ground.

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!star Kate was filming the lesson at the time and has promised viewers of the ITV show she will share the footage if she can find it on her phone.

"Billy got thrown from a horse because the horse had really quite bad wind,” revealed Kate, chatting to fellow GMB host Ben Shephard.

A stunned Ben replied: "What!"

"Really bad, I've actually got it on film, I'll find it if you like," admitted Kate.

Ben enquired: "Billy got thrown off the horse because the horse had bad wind?"

And Kate said: "He had a bit of windy pops. You can actually hear it on the video.

"He's [Billy] fine, everyone's fine. The horse stopped and turned around.

“Smokey, the horse was - and looked at him as if to say 'I'm so sorry'.

"Always Billy, poor old Billy.”
