Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway's husband in intensive care with coronavirus

Kate Garraway's husband has been hospitalised after contracting coronavirus.

Derek Draper is currently in intensive care and the Good Morning Britain Host is also self-isolating after showing symptoms.

The 52-year-old was taken to hospital on Monday (March 30) after testing positive for Covid-19.

A spokesperson for Kate said she is displaying "mild symptoms" but has not yet been tested, The Daily Star reports.

They told The Sun: "Kate’s husband, Derek Draper, has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

"He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus.

"Kate, hasn’t been tested, however, she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home."

The couple have been married since 2005 and have two children - Darcey, 14, and son William, 11.

Earlier this year, Derek, a former political advisor,  proposed to Kate for a second time, hoping to renew their vows as a sign of their love for one another.

Piers Morgan reacted to the news by tweeting: “Now it’s been made public, I can say this horrendous situation has brought the coronavirus crisis sharply into the hearts of all of us at GMB.

“My love and prayers to Kate and Derek.”

Daily Star Online has contacted Kate's representatives for comment.
