Kate Garraway's husband Derek watches her on GMB for the first time since waking from coma

Kate Garraway got emotional as she revealed that her husband Derek Draper watched her on TV from hospital, after visiting him last week.

The mum-of-two spoke about the moment Derek, who has woken from his coma, watched her on telly for the first time since his battle began.

Her husband is still having a "tough" time in hospital after being struck down with coronavirus in March.

Doctors warned Kate that Derek may never recover from the damage done to his body by Covid-19, but last week she confirmed he had opened his eyes.

Now, Kate has detailed for the first time how he was when she saw him last week.

"He had a tough week, he had two big falls in blood pressure and also swelling in his legs with the concern that it might be clots it was very very emotional.

"He has had clots in his lungs … I suppose the concern would be is if it was new clots forming."
