Kate Garraway's GMB co-stars Susanna Reid and Adil Ray wish her 'Happy Birthday'

Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray wished colleague Kate Garraway 'Happy Birthday' as she turned 54 today.

Kate has had an incredibly tough year since her husband Derek Draper was struck down with coronavirus in March last year and was rushed to hospital to be put into an induced coma.

However, Derek is now recovering at home as their son Billy and daughter Darcey help their dad.

Susanna and Adil gave Kate a shout-out on the ITV programme today.

Adil had addressed viewers as he said: "Good morning Britain! May the fourth be with you!"

Susanna added: "And a Happy Birthday to Kate Garraway."

Surprised, Adil exclaimed: "Oh! Is it her birthday?! Oh wow!"

"Because she always says that doesn't she - 'May the fourth be with you'," Susanna pointed out. "She's going to be on Lorraine a little bit later."

"Happy Birthday Kate Garraway," Adil said.

Earlier, Adil had joked about Katie Price's upcoming interview with eighth fiance Carl Woods on the show.

He told viewers: "This time, it's for real! Katie Price claims it's definitely love with eighth time fiancé Carl Woods after just 10 months. So what's different this time?"

In the studio, Adil said: "Very excited about Katie Price being on the show."

Noticing Adil's wry tone, Susanna Reid quipped: "Look, whatever you say about Katie Price you can't deny that she's an eternal romantic."

Smiling, Adil responded: "Exactly! She keeps going. Eight engagements she's had?"

Susanna exclaimed: "Yes! She's had a couple of marriages."

Adil remarked with a laugh: "And she keeps going and says this is the one - apparently."

Susanna insisted: "You're right! And we'll ask how she knows that a little bit later. But we're really looking forward to talking to them later."
