Charlotte Hawkins has said she is "full of admiration" for her Good Morning Britain colleague Kate Garraway after her husband was in hospital for a year.
Former political adviser Derek Draper was put into a coma by doctors after he contracted coronavirus and was left with multiple serious health issues.
He has now been reunited with Kate and their children, Darcey and Billy, at their family home, but he still needs round the clock care and is still on a long road to recovery.
Charlotte told Hello! magazine it is "lovely" working with Kate on ITV news programme Good Morning Britain.
She said: "She's always got a smile on her face and despite everything she's been through, has been so brave.
"I'm full of admiration for how strong she's been, to be able to do interviews about Covid, and people being ill.
"We're all there for her 100% and keep everything crossed that things will be OK with Derek."
She also reflected on spending lockdown with her husband Mark Herbert and their daughter Ella Rose.
She said: "Maybe we should learn a lesson from the past year and get a bit of balance, not cram so much in.
"To make sure you have some downtime and protect family time.
"My husband Mark and I tried to make lockdown a special experience for Ella Rose, so we'd spend summer evenings chatting, playing Monopoly and camping in the back garden."
Charlotte, who will present coverage from Royal Ascot this year, also told the magazine she is pleased to see more female jockeys having success in horse racing.
She said: "It's brilliant seeing more women come to the fore - like Rachael Blackmore, Bryony Frost and Hayley Turner.
"At the moment it still feels like something that people have to comment on, but it won't be that long before it's commonplace.#
"There are lots of lads and lasses who ride and look after the horses, it's not something purely for the men."
