Kate Garraway reveals 'sore eye' after return to radio for first time since husband put in hospital

Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway has revealed that she's battling a mystery 'sore eye.'

This comes a week after the TV presenter and former I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant returned to her Smooth Radio show for the first time following her husband's admittance to hospital with Coroanvirus reports The Mirror.

Kate, who has two children with husband Derek Draper, took to her radio show to issue an emotional thanks to listeners.

She told them she was excited to be back before revealing that she had opted to wear her glasses as she's got a 'really sore eye.'

Speaking to her listeners, Kate said that her eye is so sore that she 'can't put [her] contacts in.'

Kate said: "I always think that when I've got my glasses on I look a bit more brainy," she laughed, "But if you're listening to me on Smooth Radio you'll know that nothing has actually changed.

"I've got a really sore eye. It's really hurting and I don't know what I've done to it. I can't put my contacts in and I'm wearing my glasses.

"The songs however, are as perfect as they always are here on Smooth Radio so do join me!"

Her return to the radio show comes around three months after she announced that Derek had emerged from his coma into a 'state of minimum consciousness' and that doctors had told her not to 'put [her] life on pause.'

You can catch Kate Garraway on Smooth Radio from 10am - 1pm weekdays.
