Kate Garraway reveals Ben Shephard is leaving Good Morning Britain for different ITV show

Ben Shephard is leaving Good Morning Britain to go host another ITV show, Kate Garraway revealed today.

While hosting the ITV morning talk show earlier today, the 53-year-old announced it was her co-host's last day in the studio.

As filming of ITV game show Tipping Point recommences - with social distancing measures in place - Ben Shephard said he will be leaving GMB to focus on that.

"This is Ben's last day. You are going and having a bit of time off, aren't you?" Kate told viewers tuning in from home.

Ben insisted: "I am not having time off at all. We have hit peak Tipping Point. Tipping Point season 11.

"Back in the studio, we are all back at it, it is all socially distanced - so the set has had to change to make sure everybody's OK."

He added: "So I am not going to be here but I am going to be working, Kate Garraway."

Kate then joked: "Tipping point for Tipping Point", before Ben replied: "I will not have my trotters up in the south of France!"

It comes as the pair have been filling in for regular GMB presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan while they take some time off from the show for the summer.

Fellow ITV talk show Lorraine has also had replacement hosts while the Scottish mum-of-one takes a break from TV presenting.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
